This statement was made in an interview with RIA Novosti by the permanent representative of the Republic of Crimea to the President of Russia, Deputy Prime Minister of the regional government Georgy Muradov.

According to him, in fact, no one in the West doubts that Crimea is part of the Russian Federation.

“The question is how this topic is progressing from a legal point of view,” Muradov noted.

Earlier, American businessman Elon Musk agreed with the opinion that Western countries should recognize the DPR, LPR and Crimea as Russian.

Also, Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico said that he considers “absolutely unrealistic” Russia’s withdrawal from Donbass and Crimea.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has repeatedly emphasized that the issue of Crimea is closed for Russia, and the referendum on the peninsula was held in strict accordance with international law.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum took place there in March 2014: the majority of residents were in favor of reunification with Russia.
