Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said that pressure was put on Israel during the past week to bring in more aid, stressing the unacceptability of using aid for political blackmail.

He added, in statements to Al Jazeera on the sidelines of the first day of the Qatari-American strategic dialogue, that work is underway to provide infrastructure to receive aid in Gaza.

He stressed that the issue of humanitarian aid cannot be tampered with and used for political blackmail, noting that this is what the mediators see during the recent period.

US National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said that Israel must facilitate the entry of more aid into the Strip.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said that the Israelis agreed to a reasonable proposal and that the ball is currently in the court of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas).

Biden also considered - in statements on Tuesday - that a ceasefire was necessary, warning of an increase in tensions in Jerusalem and the West Bank if an agreement was not reached before the month of Ramadan.

On the other hand, Hamas leader Osama Hamdan said that the movement does not hesitate to make any effort to stop the aggression, return the displaced and bring in aid.

He stressed that it would not accept any agreement that does not include stopping the war, withdrawing the occupation forces, reconstruction, and the return of the displaced to their areas.

Hamdan spoke about the movement's positive response to the proposal presented by the mediators, stressing that the occupation government is practicing procrastination and evasion in order to continue the extermination of the Palestinians.
