The forecaster noted that in the mountains of the Krasnodar Territory and in the North Caucasus republics, snow fell significantly more than normal.

“Now the temperature is rising, the snow is thickening and in addition there is precipitation.

Precipitation comes in a variety of forms: sleet and rain.

It is in these situations that the danger of avalanches increases significantly,” Vilfand explained.

He advised citizens involved in skiing to carefully follow the recommendations on which slopes are allowed to ski.

“In the mountains of the North Caucasus, in Ingushetia, in the Chechen Republic, there are rains, sleet, sleet sticking in the mountains.

And all this leads to increased avalanche danger,” the forecaster concluded.

Earlier, the head of the Meteo forecasting center, Alexander Shuvalov, said that the weather in Moscow was about a week behind the calendar.
