On March 26, Asia's first deepwater jacket "Haiji 2" independently designed and built by China was successfully slid into the water in the Pearl River Mouth Basin and accurately positioned, breaking many Asian records such as operating water depth, height, and weight. , marking that my country’s complete set of key technologies and installation capabilities of deepwater ultra-large jackets have reached the world’s first-class level, which is of great strategic significance for promoting the increase of offshore oil and gas reserves and production and ensuring national energy security.

  The jacket platform is the most widely used offshore oil and gas production facility in the world. The jacket is equivalent to the "foundation" and is used to support the huge body and huge tonnage of the offshore oil and gas platform. The "Haiji No. 2" jacket has a total height of 338.5 meters, exceeding the height of the main building of Beijing International World Trade Center Phase 3, and a total weight of nearly 37,000 tons. The amount of steel used is close to that of the "Bird's Nest" National Stadium. It is the tallest and heaviest jacket in Asia.

  Since the huge tonnage of "Hai Ji 2" exceeds the lifting capacity of the world's largest crane ship, the offshore installation was carried out using the slip-launching method. Liu Huaxiang, general manager of the Liuhua Oilfield Development Project Team of CNOOC Shenzhen Branch, said that this method uses the jacket's own gravity and cooperates with the hydraulic jack to help the jacket slide smoothly from the barge into the sea, and then water is injected through the jacket and The combination of crane boat assistance can achieve bottom setting and accurate positioning.

  The offshore installation of deepwater ultra-large jackets involves world-class engineering challenges such as complex design calculations, equipment and technical capabilities, and construction in harsh sea conditions. The installation site of "Haiji No. 2" is located in the waters of Liuhua Oilfield, about 240 kilometers southeast of Shenzhen. The applicable water depth is about 324 meters. It is the first time in China that a fixed jacket has been installed in waters with a water depth of more than 300 meters. The sea area is prone to typhoons and wind and waves. And the internal wave current is strong, the installation technology is difficult and the operation risk is extremely high.

  In recent years, our country has carried out nearly 50 large-scale jacket slip-launching operations, with a cumulative installation weight of 750,000 tons. The construction scale, maximum weight, and total tonnage are all among the best in the world. We have completed large-scale construction projects represented by "Offshore Oil 229" The equipment has formed a complete installation technology system from design calculation, simulation, shipping and transportation, slip launching to precise righting and positioning, etc., providing technical support for accelerating the development of my country's deepwater oil and gas resources.

  According to the operation plan, "Haiji No. 2" will continue to carry out subsequent construction operations such as underwater piling and upper module installation. After completing the offshore installation, it will be used in my country's first deepwater oil field - Liuhua 11-1/4- 1 oil field, promoting new vitality in old oil fields with a capacity of 100 million tons.
