After a summer marked by high temperatures, temperatures are dropping.
However, drought is still very present in Haute-Vienne, with almost half of the rivers dried up, reports France 3 Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The problem is that rainfall is often superficial and does not supply drinking water resources.
Thus, the level of the Mazeaud dam, responsible for supplying water to the agglomeration of Limoges, fell by 7 meters.
A problematic situation
Consequence: there are five months of drinking water left in this reserve.
The situation is therefore considered worrying because no one knows when the drought will end knowing that the next few months are announced as very dry.
Some associations, like Source et rivière du Limousin, also warn of the consequences that all this will have on biodiversity in the months and years to come.
