This is perhaps a turning point in the affair of little Émile, of whom we lost track in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence on July 8. This Thursday, a scenario was organized in the village to retrace the minutes which preceded the disappearance of the little boy, then two and a half years old.

The hamlet remained sealed until the end. Despite nearly ten hours of reconstruction, nothing has filtered out and the mystery remains surrounding the disappearance of young Émile in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Almost nine months after the events, investigators organized a “scenario” yesterday in the hamlet of Haut-Vernet. During this day, the versions of everyone's diaries for July 8, 2023 were opposed, also in the face of the elements collected during previous surveys.

The village hopes for “answers” and a return to “quietude”

In Haut-Vernet, residents, like Gilles, have high hopes for this situation so that the investigation can finally progress. “We are waiting for the answer to know if what happened and whether the village can regain the peace it had before,” he says.

He continues: "Everyone hopes. Living here now is unbearable. You can see that there aren't many people in the village. This situational procedure is exceptional, to try once again to unravel the mystery of this disappearance. A total of 17 people were interviewed: little Émile's family, neighbors, but also witnesses. For the moment, no response has been provided by investigators.
