According to Météo-France forecasts, the rains that arrived the day before from the west will rain down on the eastern side of the country on Wednesday morning. The risk of flooding concerns four departments on Wednesday, with Yonne remaining on red alert and Aube, Haute-Marne and Côte d'Or on orange alert.

These rains will be more consistent from Hauts de France to the Grand-Est up to Burgundy-Franche-Comté and will be more scattered over the Alps and the PACA region. It will snow a little on the massifs above 1,600m.

The sunshine will become more generous during the morning on Wednesday from the Arcachon basin towards the Gulf of Lion and the Pyrenees. Over the rest of the country, the sky will alternate between clearings and showers, accompanied by a westerly wind blowing up to 70 km/h in peaks.

Frequent showers

In the afternoon, the sun will remain strong from the Landes coast to the Languedoc beaches, from the south of the PACA region to Corsica. Rare clearings will combine with frequent showers over the northern three quarters of the country, it will snow in the north of the Alps above 1,800m. Thunder will be possible in the North-East, while a new rainy deterioration will approach the tip of Brittany during the afternoon. The prevailing westerly wind will blow up to 80 km/h.

At daybreak, the thermometer will display 7 to 11 degrees over the western half of the country, between 4 and 8 further east, 9 to 12 along the seaside. The maximums will be around 14 to 17 over the northern half, from 17 to 21 further south with points up to 22 or 23 at the foot of the Pyrenees.
