An Indian woman returns home two weeks after her death and cremation

An elderly Indian woman named Shakuntala Gaekwad, 76, returned to her home, after it was officially announced that she had died of infection with the Corona virus.

And the British newspaper, “Daily Star”, stated that the doctors informed the Jirigama family that she passed away, and that the strict preventive and precautionary measures after the fierce wave that India is now facing are impeding the relatives of the deceased from seeing their bodies clearly because this procedure is carried out through large distances between the deceased and their families and the bodies are formed Tightly wrapped in plastic.

Jirigama's nephew stated that they had tried before to visit her in the hospital but were unable to do so, and stated that the doctors thought she was the deceased and she was transferred to another wing of the hospital.

The woman's family went to the mortuary and received the body of another woman, and they were unable to discover it because the body was covered tightly and the body was cremated and its funeral ceremony was performed.

Jirigama's family was surprised, two weeks after her cremation, by returning to her home in the village of Kristianpet, alive on June 2, and when she saw her relatives, she began to blame them for not coming to pick her up from the hospital after she recovered from the virus.


The newspaper stated that the hospital offered the woman to deliver her to the house for 3000 rupees, equivalent to 40 dollars, but she insisted that she go home alone and chose to walk most of the distance.
