The tone has hardened. Four people living in Lyon and the surrounding cities were arrested and placed in police custody this Friday for endangering the lives of others. They are accused of not having respected the containment measures imposed Monday evening by the government, we learned from the Sûreté du Rhône.

The first is a young man of 19, "very unfavorably known to the police", who was arrested on Friday midday while driving in the Cours Charlemagne, in the 2nd arrondissement. He had neither a driver's license nor an authorization justifying his movement. But above all, he had already been fined for the same reasons a few hours earlier.

"Total disregard for government directives"

"He admitted the facts but showed at his hearing a total disregard for government instructions relating to containment," said the Lyon police, adding that he will be presented to the prosecution on Friday.

Three other suspects were also placed in police custody at this time for the acts of endangering the life of others following several verbalizations in connection with the not presentation of documentary evidence and their manifest will to refuse any confinement.

In addition, the Rhône police proceeded with the verbalization of 443 people on the public highway as part of these measures. A total of 739 people have been fined since Lyon's placement in confinement.
