On the morning of October 9, as the first 32-meter-long box girder weighing 820 tons steadily landed on the Baiyundong No. 2 Extra Large Bridge in Jiangyang District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, this marked the beginning of the Yu-Kun section of the Beijing-Kunming High-speed Railway. The hole box girder was successfully erected.

  The Chongqing-Kunming section of the Beijing-Kunming high-speed railway is 699 kilometers long and has a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. Luzhou City and Yibin City in Sichuan Province, Bijie City in Guizhou Province, Zhaotong City and Qujing City in Yunnan Province, and finally to Kunming South Station. They are an important part of the Beijing-Kunming Passage from Xi’an to Kunming, one of the “eight verticals and eight horizontals” of the national high-speed rail network. .

  The construction period of the Chongqing-Kunming high-speed railway is 6 years.

After the completion of the project, a large high-speed rail channel will be added from Chongqing to Kunming, which will greatly improve the travel conditions of residents along the railway line, build a "new territory" for economic life in the areas along the line, and form a new pattern for promoting the development of the western region, and at the same time strengthen the two cities in Chengdu and Chongqing The close connection between the economic circle and the urban agglomeration in central Yunnan has played an important role in promoting, providing strong support for the regional integration of the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and effectively promoting the coordinated and sustainable development of the regional economy and society.
