In September, three acquaintances were arrested on suspicion of causing death by pushing a 27-year-old man into a river in Okayama City and drowning him.

Initially, the police determined that it was a suicide based on the explanation that "the man jumped into the river by himself", but after that, one of the suspects turned himself in.

Three people were arrested: unemployed Shuhei Kiura (30), part-time job Yuta Okuyama (30), and Yuta Matsumori (30), all of whom live in Okayama City.

According to the police, in September, the three were suspected of killing Yuta Mizuuchi (27) in Okayama City, standing on the quay of the Yoshii River, surrounding him, pushing him down and drowning him.

Mr. Mizuuchi and the suspect were originally friends, and the police initially determined that it was a suicide because Mr. Kiura explained that he had jumped into the river while Mr. Mizuuchi was consulting him about his troubles. However, last month, one of the suspects turned himself in to the police.

As a result of the investigation, three people were arrested on suspicion of assault for forcibly cutting Mizuuchi's head the day before the incident, and were re-arrested on suspicion of causing injury to death on the 15th.

Police have not released the identity of the three.

The Okayama Prefectural Police Headquarters said, "We want to thoroughly investigate the surrounding area again."
