The Department of Research and Studies at the Hamdan bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival participated in the symposium organized by the Arab Heritage Center at the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, which was titled: “Devoting documentary heritage to promote just and peaceful inclusive societies”, in celebration of the World Day for Audiovisual Heritage.

Advisor to the Research and Studies Department at the Center, Khaled Bader Obaid Al-Badour, presented the center’s pioneering experience in the field of audio-visual documentation, by harnessing the great development that has taken place in the means of preserving and processing recorded and illustrated heritage materials and placing them in the service and protection of cultural heritage and preserving it from loss, and even presenting it to the public in a proportional manner. He cited the experience of Radio Al Oula, which broadcasts on the 107.4 wave, one of the initiatives of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Heritage Revival Center in the field of preserving audio heritage through a group of live and recorded programs broadcast by "Al-Oula" throughout the year, such as the "Mzamil" program presented by the poet and consultant Saif bin Suleiman, who takes Poetry is its main subject, as the episodes are archived in a way that ensures the preservation of this type of heritage and allows those interested to return to it easily through the smart application of Radio Al Oula.

Al-Badour referred to the “Ghabayeb” program, presented by Al-Nokhatha and the poet Hamid bin Theban, and his role in preserving the Emirati maritime heritage and introducing the public to its details, as the country has a rich experience in this field, and the radio station that takes “You and You” as its slogan was able to conduct a comprehensive survey of Emirati songs. Al-Bdour praised the cooperation agreement of the Hamdan bin Mohammed Center for Heritage Revival with UNESCO to set up workshops and training in the field of audio-visual field research and the great and influential role in achieving the center’s goal by using the scientific methods approved in the process of heritage preservation, as these methods helped in codifying and preserving a lot of heritage. culture in a way that ensures its sustainability.

He stressed the great role of the center's library in the process of preserving audiovisual heritage, as it includes a large and important collection of the center's various publications, including books and recordings, in everything related to Emirati and Arab heritage, which are available to all.
