With the track "Unholy," German Kim Petras and her British colleague Sam Smith became the first trans musician and first non-binary person to hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

On the list of the most successful titles, which the music magazine "Billboard" publishes every Tuesday, Petras and Smith overtook others this week Steve Lacy's "Bad Habit" and Harry Styles' "As It Was".

"Number 1 on the Hot 100. I'm so grateful!" Petras wrote on Instagram, praising Smith for his support.

The singer and composer, who was born as a boy in Cologne 30 years ago, has been working with the British musician for several years.

Smith publicly came out as gay in early 2014.

Three years later he announced that he would live non-binary in the future.

The thirty-year-old became known in 2012 with the title "Latch".

After various music awards such as Grammys and Billboard Music Awards, the Londoner also won an Oscar in 2016 for the film music "Writing's On The Wall" from the James Bond thriller "Spectre".
