The most famous American rapper and producer, Lil Jon, converted to Islam in a mosque in California, in the second case of conversion to Islam among famous circles in the United States during the first week of Ramadan.
Before performing Friday prayers, John came to the King Fahd Mosque in Los Angeles, the largest city in California, announcing his conversion to Islam.

The rapper was born in 1972 in Atlanta, Georgia. His real name is Jonathan H. Smith, and he is known for his pioneering role in introducing this sub-genre of hip-hop (rap) music in the early 2000s.
Recently, Lil Jon, who has more than a million followers on social media and is known for his interest in esoteric beliefs, released his meditative album and received great attention.
Lil Jon, who won a Grammy Award in 2015, is one of the most prominent figures in both music and pop culture, having performed in front of hundreds of thousands of fans with Afrojack, Steve Aoki and Sidney Sampson at the Ultra Music Festival.
Over the past few years, he has proven to be a mainstay in the field of rap songs. He has become an ambassador for major brands, a host of a number of television programs, and achieved a wide audience when he participated in the “Celebrity Apprentice” program in the spring of 2011 on NBC. He quickly achieved great fame in the United States.
Lil Jon returned to prime-time television in the spring of 2013 as part of the cast of Celebrity Apprentice All-Stars, where he came in third place and raised nearly $200,000 for the American Diabetes Association.
John is the second American to convert to Islam during the first week of the current month of Ramadan, after writer and activist Shaun King, who shared a video clip on Facebook with his wife reciting the Shahada and declaring their Islam at the Valley Ranch Islamic Center in Irving, Texas.
He wrote in his tweet: “My heart goes out to my dear friends in Gaza and I am proud that we were able to provide meals tonight to thousands of families from north to south in Gaza and we will do so every day of the month of Ramadan.”
