A foal was extracted from a well by firefighters in Bruniquel, in the Tarn-et-Garonne. - Tuesday 82

The village of Bruniquel, in Tarn-et-Garonne, is famous for having hosted the filming of Robert Enrico's Vieux Fusil , with Philippe Noiret and Romy Schneider. The successful rescue on Friday by firefighters, and reported this Tuesday on Facebook, will probably not inspire a film, but the story is beautiful.

And long too: almost eight hours to rescue a foal that fell into a well five meters deep and three in diameter, bathed in 1.5 meters of water. Tarn-et-Garonne teams from the Grimp (reconnaissance and intervention group in perilous environments) and the SD (rescue and clearing) intervened to ensure this delicate maneuver.

After pumping some of the water from the well, the animal was put to sleep by a veterinarian. Then he was harnessed and taken out of the trap by a backhoe loader provided by the neighboring town of Montricoux. Happy end  : the foal got out without damage.
