According to Bai Lu, a veterinarian at the rehabilitation center of the base, at 15:20 on January 31, the sweat horse "Shakepu" gave birth to a foal. This is the first bloody horse born in Xinjiang in the new year. "The foal has a net weight of 52 kilograms and is very healthy. Its birth has added new vitality to the base."
Bai Lu said: "Currently, the mare and foal are in good condition. The foal walks relatively smoothly. When it was born, it had no physical strength and could not stand for a few minutes before lying down to rest. In the near future, we will strengthen the nutrition of the mare. Prepare fodder that is conducive to milk production, send full-time veterinary care, and observe the status of the mare and foal from time to time.”

Currently, there are more than 400 sweat horses in the base, and they will enter the peak foaling period after mid-February. Xinjiang Ancient Ecological Park Sweat-blooded Horse Base is the core breeding ground of Ahajie Golden Horse (Sweating-blooded Horse) in Xinjiang Ili Horse Industry Cluster. In the past three years, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China and the Xinjiang Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau), the number of sweat horse breeding has increased year by year. The base is also equipped with a horse treatment and rehabilitation center, which provides guarantee for horse breeding and healthy growth.
