A former Maritime Self-Defense Force captain who was sent to prosecutors on suspicion of violating the Special Secrets Protection Law for leaking internal information of the Ministry of Defense, which was designated as a "special secret" that requires advanced information management, to his former employees. The prosecution dismissed the charges due to insufficient suspicion.

In March 2020, when he was serving as commander of the Intelligence Operations Group, a 55-year-old former captain of the Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) gave an alumnus of the former commander of the Self-Defense Forces, who had already retired, an update on the latest security situation. When I explained, I was sent documents to the prosecutor's office on suspicion of violating the Act on the Protection of Specially Designated Secrets and the Self-Defense Forces Act, accusing me of leaking information such as radio wave information provided by other countries and information related to the operation of the Self-Defense Forces.

As a result of the investigation, the Yokohama District Public Prosecutor's Office decided not to indict him on the 14th because there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him for any of the charges.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the former captain admitted to leaking information in the investigation of the Ministry of Defense at the time, and was dismissed from his post in December last year.
