Regarding this accident, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force said that the 52-year-old 2nd class captain who was the captain at the time had inappropriate supervision, including failing to instruct the crew to be fully aware of the ships around them. As of the 19th, I was punished with a pay reduction.



In addition, two senior Self-Defense Force officials and a petty officer who were involved in the operation of the submarine were given pay cuts, and a first class captain in his 50s who was in the position of instructing training was given a reprimand. They each took disciplinary action.



Due to this accident, the submarine was repaired at a cost of approximately 2.6 billion yen.
