Regarding this accident, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force issued a statement on the 19th, alleging that the 42-year-old 2nd class officer who was serving as the captain at the time had inappropriate supervision, including instructing the ship to change the route without considering safety aspects. Additionally, four senior Self-Defense Forces personnel in their 20s to 40s who were involved in the operation of the destroyer were suspended from their jobs for three days and given disciplinary action for one day.
