Toyama Prefecture has created a new notebook that can record the growth of extremely low birth weight babies and children with medical care, and will distribute it through medical institutions from April this year.

Very low birth weight infants are babies born weighing less than 1,500 grams and may require prolonged hospitalization or medical care after discharge.

Even if you try to record your growth in a general maternal and child health handbook, you may not be able to enter your weight in the frame of the graph, or there may be a conspicuous delay in items that you will be able to do by age. Problems such as deepening have been pointed out.

Under these circumstances, in response to requests from parents, Toyama Prefecture has created a new "Toyama HUG Kumi Techo" that considers extremely low birth weight children and children who need medical care, and will distribute it through medical institutions from April this year. became.

This notebook does not answer "yes or no" to what the baby can do, but it will be a format to fill in the date when the baby can stand and crawl.

In addition, about 350 copies will be created, including messages of support from parents who have also experienced raising very low birth weight babies and medical professionals.

The Toyama Prefectural Child Care Support Division says, "We hope that this will lead to emotional care for parents who are worried about childcare and that it will be an opportunity for people in the community and those around them to watch over their babies." We invite you to use them together.
