Disaster waste such as rubble generated in Ishikawa Prefecture due to the Noto Peninsula Earthquake will be processed within Toyama Prefecture, and an incineration facility in Tateyama Town began receiving it on the 15th.

In response to a request from Anamizu Town, Ishikawa Prefecture, the acceptance of disaster waste began at the incineration facility of the Toyama District Wide Area Affairs Association in Tateyama Town, Toyama Prefecture.

On the 15th, the first day, approximately 4.5 tons of disaster waste such as unusable furniture was brought in by truck.

The waste was once crushed by a private waste disposal company and then incinerated along with general household waste.

According to Toyama Prefecture, this is the first time that a local government in Toyama Prefecture has accepted disaster waste from the affected areas of Ishikawa Prefecture due to the recent Noto Peninsula earthquake.

According to the administrative association, the acceptance on the 15th was a trial run, and they plan to start processing in earnest from the 19th of this month, with a maximum of 50 tons per day.

Hiroshi Umezawa, director of the incineration facility, said, ``We have a track record of receiving disaster waste, including during the Great East Japan Earthquake, and we would like to cooperate with disaster victims so that they can return to their normal lives as soon as possible.'' I did.
