[Explanation] On November 19, the second "Cross-strait Common Market Haihe Forum" was held in Tianjin.
Well-known experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait carried out in-depth exchanges and discussions through online and offline methods around the theme of the forum "Building a Common Market across the Taiwan Strait - Deepening Cross-Strait Port City Cooperation".
[Explanation] Pan Xianzhang, deputy director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, delivered a video speech.
He said that the second "Cross-Strait Common Market Haihe Forum" is another concrete measure for Tianjin to face a new journey in the new era, strengthen Tianjin-Taiwan economic exchanges and cooperation, and deepen the integrated development of Tianjin and Taiwan.
The Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council will continue to support Tianjin's work with Taiwan and help Tianjin and Taiwan to deepen exchanges and cooperation.
[Explanation] Ji Guoqiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China and director of the United Front Work Department of the Municipal Committee, attended the event and delivered a speech.
He pointed out that in recent years, the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government have continued to implement detailed policies and measures to benefit Taiwan. Tianjin has become an important gathering place for Taiwanese investment in the northern part of the mainland and one of the areas with the highest rate of return.
I hope that everyone will stand at the height of promoting the peaceful development and integration of cross-strait relations, further strengthen the exchanges between Tianjin and Taiwan's port cities, and actively explore the creation of a cross-strait common market.
[Explanation] Zhan Huosheng, chairman of the Taiwan Cross-Strait Common Market Foundation, said in his speech that the theme of this forum focuses on the port economy. While inheriting the concept of the cross-strait common market, it can expand and extend to a wider regional economic scope.

Cross-strait economic relations must be able to break through the old thinking to create a new situation. The Tianjin Haihe Forum leads the research on the cross-strait common market and adopts both ideas and pragmatism, which is very worthy of recognition and praise.
[Explanation] During the forum, more than 30 experts, scholars and business representatives from both sides of the strait gave keynote speeches and discussions and exchanges to promote the formation of consensus.
This forum is co-hosted by the Research Center for Cross-Strait Relations, Nankai University Research Base for Cross-Strait Relations, Tianjin Association of Taiwan Compatriots Investment Enterprises, and Taiwan Cross-Strait Common Market Foundation.
