  On the same day, the 2024 third "Bookish Cross-Strait Welcomes the New Year" Fuzhou venue event was held at the Strait Art and Culture Exchange Space on the third floor of Aofengfang Bookstore, Fuzhou.

  Xie Ruijin, deputy general manager of Fujian Xinhua Publishing Group, said in his speech that the "Bookish Cross-Strait Welcomes the New Year" event has been held for three consecutive years. It is a sign that the group is actively exploring new ways of integrated development across the Taiwan Strait, practicing the concept of "Two sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family", and helping to create a prosperous society. This is also the first event since the opening of the Straits Art and Culture Exchange Space.

In the future, art and cultural exchange activities will be held regularly. We hope that compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait can have more exchanges and cooperation in art and culture to promote the innovation and development of traditional Chinese culture.

  Huang Shoukun believes that both sides of the Taiwan Strait should hold more and more colorful cultural exchange activities, give full play to the role of new media and other platforms, break geographical restrictions, and allow more people, especially young people, to contact, understand and love the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

  In order to let more Taiwanese compatriots experience the charm of Fujian and Taiwan culture, Straits Publishing and Distribution Group donated 100 volumes of Fujian-edited books including "General History of Taiwan" to the Fuzhou Cross-Strait Community Exchange Center.

  In order to strengthen cross-strait cultural integration, Fujian Publishing Foreign Trade Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement with Taiwan Liwen Cultural Co., Ltd. and hired Huang Shoukun as a cultural and art consultant.

  In 2022, Taiwanese craftsman Huang Shoukun was selected into the "List of Representative Inheritors of the Fifth Batch of Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage Representative Projects in Fuzhou" for his "Fuzhou Bodiless Lacquerware Painting Technique Project".

He said that as the representative inheritor of Fuzhou's intangible cultural heritage, he must work harder to fulfill the responsibility of "inheritance".

  At the event, Su Xudong, Chairman of Fujian Pingnan County Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Zhang Xiong, Chairman of Pingnan County Wooden Arch Bridge Protection Association, led 30 students from the Second Primary School Affiliated to Fuzhou Institute of Education to carry out handicraft activities to experience the tradition of Chinese wooden arch bridges Craftsmanship.

  Currently, the third "Bookish Cross-Strait Welcomes the New Year" series of activities, guided by the Straits Publishing and Distribution Group and hosted by the Fujian Xinhua Publishing Group, is being held in Fuzhou, and will be held simultaneously in Taipei, Matsu and other places. The activities will last until February 25. People on both sides of the Taiwan Strait presented a cultural feast.

  As an important part of the "Bookish Cross-Strait Welcomes the New Year" event, the organizer and Mawei District Committee and District Government jointly held the "Two Horses Lantern Festival Bookish Welcome" at Hongguang Lake Park and Strait Youth Exchange Camp in Langqi, Fuzhou from February 20th to 25th. The "Year of the Dragon" series of activities incorporates high-quality books from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, special delicacies, cultural and creative design, study activities and other content, and sets up a "Books and Culture and Creativity" market, attracting a large number of readers to participate.
