This "Mt. Fuji Cosplay World Convention" was held every year at a shopping street in front of JR Shimizu Station in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, but due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, it was canceled for two years in a row until last year. rice field.

On the 19th, which was held for the first time in three years, when the opening was announced at 10:30 am, enthusiasts of "cosplay" who dressed up as anime and movie characters walked through the arcade of the shopping district and took pride in their costumes. was showing off.



At the event, there was also a corner where you could take pictures with popular cosplayers, and visitors lined up to enjoy interacting with cosplayers from Shizuoka Prefecture.



According to the executive committee of the event, about 2,200 cosplay enthusiasts from all over the country gathered during the two-day event three years ago, and about 36,000 general visitors visited.

A woman in her 20s who visited from Kanagawa Prefecture said, "Today was my first time participating because the event was not held due to the corona crisis. I've been looking forward to it for a long time, so I'm very happy."



This event is held until the 20th at Shimizu Station Ginza Shopping Street in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City and JR Shimizu Station East Exit Park.
