According to the British “Insider” website, it began in January 2020, when Sarah Scott was returning home, and she saw the neighbors’ garbage piled up in front of the boxes, and there was a lot of furniture in it.

Sarah decided to take the trash including a coffee table, bookcase and broken lawnmower, and within 48 hours, she sold everything on Facebook Market, a section of the social networking site where users can buy and sell goods, to and from people in their local area.

So far in 2022, Sarah, 27, has made an additional $37,000 thanks to selling her trash.

Sarah said she works full time as a digital marketing consultant for FedEx and makes just under $90,000 a year, and only spends 5 hours a week on her side job selling trash.

Sarah explained that she divides her time as follows: 3 hours for driving and picking up things, and 2 hours for organizing, photographing and listing items online.
