In the US state of New Hampshire, a woman was seriously injured after she apparently fell into a large trash can at an apartment complex and then ended up in a garbage truck as it was being emptied. Several media outlets reported the incident in the city of Manchester, including the Guardian and Boston 25 News.

Accordingly, the driver of the garbage truck only discovered the woman when the garbage had apparently already been compacted up to four times. Rescue workers who were called were able to pull the woman out alive. She was taken to a hospital for treatment. She is said to have suffered, among other things, broken bones.

It is still unclear how the woman ended up in the trash can. "I can tell you that she wasn't a homeless person, but we don't yet know why she was in there," a representative from the local fire department told the Manchester Ink Link portal. It is also unclear, among other things, whether it is a resident of the residential complex.
