Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa will succeed the name ``Ichikawa Danjuro XIII'' in a special performance on the 31st, and the famous Kabuki actor ``Danjuro'' will be revived for the first time in nine years.
``Ichikawa Danjuro'' is a famous name that has continued since the Edo period, and has led the Kabuki world for generations, starting with the first generation who established the heroic and dynamic ``Aragoto'', and the 7th generation establishing the ``Kabuki Juhachiban''.
Mr. Ebizo will succeed his father, who was the twelfth generation, and succeed the name of the thirteenth. The ``Kaoyose Teuchi Ceremony'' will be held, and the name of Danjuro 13th will be officially succeeded.
And as Danjuro, he will play the role of Benkei in "Kanjincho".
It is the first time in nine years since the death of the 12th Danjuro that the name of Danjuro has been revived in the Kabuki world.
Ebizo was supposed to succeed Danjuro in 2020, but it was postponed due to the new coronavirus.
The special performance will be held on the 31st and November 1st, and the name succession performance will start on November 7th.
