In the early hours of the 24th, a house burned down in Nishinoshima Town on the Oki Islands in Shimane Prefecture, and the bodies of two people were found in the burnt ruins.

After the fire, it has been impossible to contact the two elderly parents and children living in this house, and police are currently investigating.



On the 24th, there were a number of house fires in various places.

Around 3:15 a.m. on the 24th, a nearby resident alerted the fire department that the house of Shigeko Kimura (98) in Mita, Nishinoshima-cho, Shimane Prefecture was on fire.



The fire was extinguished in just over two hours, but a partially two-story wooden house was completely destroyed, and the bodies of two people were found in the ashes.



According to the police, two people, Kimura and her 74-year-old son, lived in this house, and neither of them could be contacted after the fire.



Police are working to confirm the identity of the body and investigating the cause of the fire.



A nearby resident said, ``When I woke up in the morning, I was shocked to see that the house next door was bright red.My legs were shaking.''



The site is located approximately 1 km northwest of Nishinoshima Town Hall, in an area dotted with residential buildings.

House fire in Takasaki, Gunma; one body found in the ruins

Just after 2 a.m. on the 24th, a neighbor spotted a fire coming out of a one-story wooden house in Kashiwagisawa, Minogo-cho, Takasaki City, Gunma Prefecture, and called the fire department.



Nine fire engines were dispatched and the fire was extinguished in about two hours, but in addition to the house, two prefabricated huts on the site were completely destroyed, and one person was found dead in the burnt ruins.



According to the police, three people, a 74-year-old man and his two younger brothers, lived in this house, and after the fire, they were unable to contact his 71-year-old brother, who was sleeping in a prefabricated hut.



Police are working to confirm their identities and investigate the exact cause of the fire.

Chiba Ichikawa 1 apartment burnt down, 1 dead, 2 injured

At around 7:30 a.m. on the 24th, a resident of another room alerted the fire department to a fire coming out of one room on the second floor of a three-story apartment building in Hirata, Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture.



Firefighters arrived and the fire was extinguished after about two hours, but the room was completely destroyed and one person was found dead inside.



Additionally, two people living on the floor above the burnt room complained of sore throats and were taken to the hospital, but their injuries were said to be minor.



Police are investigating the cause of the fire in detail and are working to confirm the identity of the body.



The scene is in a residential area about 500 meters west of Motoyawata Station on the JR Sobu Line.
