The largest cycling event in Japan, "Cycling Shimanami," was held for the first time in four years, and approximately 7,000 people from Japan and abroad enjoy cycling on the "Shimanami Kaido," which connects the islands of the Seto Inland Sea.

"Cycling Shimanami" is the largest cycling event in Japan, jointly held by Ehime and Hiroshima prefectures once every two years.



Last time it was canceled due to the influence of the new corona, and this year it will be held for the first time in four years.



Many participants gathered early in the morning at Imabari Interchange, one of the starting points, and around 8:00 a.m., they began pedaling their bicycles at the signal to depart.

The race has 8 courses ranging from 30km to 140km by distance.



Blessed with fine weather on the 30th, the participants ran comfortably on the bridge overlooking the sea.



About 7,000 people have entered the competition, and about 230 foreigners are also participating.



A man in his 60s who participated with his wife from Okayama Prefecture said, "I participated to enjoy the scenery of the Shimanami Kaido, so I want to make it a memorable and memorable day."
