On the 22nd, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism canceled the certification of four models of engines that were newly confirmed to have insufficient performance due to Hino Motors' data fraud problem that spanned about 20 years.

This is the second time the certification has been revoked for Hino Motors.

Regarding Hino Motors' data fraud, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism canceled the "type certification" required for engine production on the 22nd, following the results of the on-site inspection that had been conducted since last month.

The target is one model of large engine to be installed in trucks and buses, and three models of engines for construction machinery, for a total of four.

Along with this, the certification of the engines installed in Isuzu Motors buses has also been revoked.

In March, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism canceled the certification of Hino Motors for the first time as a country, but it was canceled for the second time after further fraud was revealed.

In response to a series of fraudulent scandals, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism strengthened audits of automobile manufacturers related to exhaust gas and fuel efficiency tests to prevent recurrence. We are requesting that we issue a correction order asking for such things and report measures to prevent recurrence by the beginning of next month.

Hino Motors "Company-wide efforts to prevent recurrence"

In response to the revocation of the certification, Hino Motors said, "We sincerely face the inconvenience caused to all of you, and strive to minimize its impact. We will work together as a company to revitalize the company."
