The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism ordered 10 models, including the Mira eS, to comply with standards due to the issue of automobile manufacturer Daihatsu improperly obtaining national certification. The instruction has been canceled as it has been confirmed.

Regarding Daihatsu Motor Corporation's fraudulent acquisition of national certification, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism is conducting tests to confirm that 45 of the 46 vehicle models for which fraud was confirmed, excluding one model under development, comply with standards. On the 19th of this month, the order to suspend shipments of five car models was lifted.



Then, on the 30th, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism lifted the order to suspend shipments, stating that test results confirmed that 10 new vehicle models met safety and other legal standards.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism will conduct confirmation tests on the remaining 30 vehicle models and will publish the results in sequence.



Daihatsu Motor Co., Ltd. said, ``In addition to the five vehicle models for which the directive has already been lifted, we would like to proceed with preparations for production of the vehicle models for which the directive has been lifted this time.We will continue to coordinate with sales companies and suppliers. We would like to decide on a specific date for resuming production."

Daihatsu Domestic production volume in December last year decreased by 33.1% compared to the same period last year

Daihatsu Motor Corporation's domestic production volume in December last year was just over 52,000 units, which was a total of 52,000 units, due to the suspension of production at four automobile factories in Japan since late December due to issues related to fraudulent acquisition of national certification. This was a decrease of 33.1% compared to the same period in 2008.



Daihatsu's automobile factories continue to be suspended due to fraud scandals, and production volume is expected to decrease significantly from January onwards.
