The Millau viaduct, in Aveyron, will be entitled to a first rejuvenation session, eighteen years after being inaugurated.

The structure carrying the A75 will undergo a partial renewal of the wearing course, explains

La Dépêche du Midi

this Thursday.

The company Eiffage Viaduc de Millau (CEVM) launched the project after carrying out a first test on a small part of the building last spring.

“A planing of 3.5 cm is planned on the 4,920 linear meters.

Once planing is complete, the mix is poured in four phases to reduce expansion stresses.

About 1,400 tonnes of wearing course will finally take place between the Causse Rouge and the Causse du Larzac, ”explains the CEVM, quoted by our colleagues.

Modified circulation

Disruptions are expected during this work.

Traffic on the viaduct will be modified until October 12, the date of the end of the work.

“A traffic switchover, day and night, is installed by the Viaduct patrollers”, indicates the CEVM.

The speed will be limited to 80 km/h in the north-south direction until September 20, then in the other direction until October 12.

It should be noted that this work is part of a broader revision program launched in 2021 and which should last until 2024.

Customs make a record seizure in Millau valued at 9 million euros
