At 1:40 pm on May 1, a forest fire broke out in Aojiang Village, Shipai Town, Datian County, Sanming City, Fujian Province, and the fire quickly spread to Taokeng Village. The Fujian Forest Fire Brigade started the emergency response mechanism around 19:30, and successively dispatched 279 firefighters to participate in fire fighting operations overnight. After drone aerial survey, the fire site averaged 650 meters above sea level, and the vegetation was mostly reeds, winter grass and shrubs The forest is mainly flammable, and there are some pine forests in some areas, which can easily form a canopy fire and it is difficult to extinguish the scene. According to preliminary judgment, there are three intermittent fire lines from southeast to northwest. The nearest fire line is only 200 meters away from Taokeng Village. After analysis and judgment, the firefighting commanders decided to take multiple breakthroughs to carry out the rescue, seize the favorable opportunity at night when the wind is relatively weak and the fire is weak, set up the water pump, and combine the conventional firefighting methods to fight the fire line. After 2 hours of hard work, the combatants effectively prevented the forest fire from spreading to Taokeng Village.
In the early morning of May 2, most of the open flames were extinguished, but due to the steep terrain on the southwest side of the fire site, the local area was 80 degrees. Several smoke points on the southwest side became fire points when the temperature increased, and the vegetation was mainly reeds Winter grass and Pinus tabulaeformis forests are mainly dry, and under the influence of wind, the fire point quickly spawned into a small fire line.
