Armor, Airbus and the Pays de la Loire region join forces to manufacture 20,000 visors - Nantes University Hospital

Distribution has already started with healthcare professionals. While protection needs are still "urgent", to deal with the coronavirus epidemic, several manufacturers in the Pays-de-la-Loire region have decided to react. The companies Armor and Airbus, two heavyweights of the territory, have formalized their alliance to produce 20,000 protective visors, and this with the financial support of the regional council.

A few weeks ago already, the group specialized in printing developed with the university and the Nantes University Hospital a model of protective visor in 3D printing, tested and approved by the nursing staff. More recently, the various Airbus sites in the region have decided to make their printers available, necessary for the manufacture of 600 visor headbands per week. "The Adveo group, European leader in office equipment, supplies several thousand PVC sheets", indicates the region.

Already used at Nantes University Hospital

According to the University of Nantes, several hundred copies have already been supplied to carers of the Nantes University Hospital and the AP-HP in recent weeks. After the hospital staff of the region, other trades could be affected by these allocations, such as the police, firefighters or pharmacists.
