On Saturday, showers are expected over a large part of the country.

Only the Paca region, Languedoc-Roussillon and Corsica should be spared, while temperatures will drop to 2 degrees in the east and rise to 18 in the Mediterranean arc. 

Saturday, between clearings and frequent cloudy periods, showers will rage throughout the day in Hauts-de-France, Ile-de-France, Normandy, Brittany, Center Val de Loire and the Pays de la Loire, according to Météo France forecasts.

These showers will be more frequent, sometimes stormy from the Bay of Seine to the Gulf of Morbihan, specifies the operator.

Rain and snow await you

Until midday, beautiful clearings will occur from the north of the Alps towards the Paca region, Languedoc-Roussillon and Corsica.

Between these two zones, the sky will be overcast and rainy, precipitation will be ever more intense from Limousin to Aquitaine.

It will snow in the Pyrenees from 1,200 to 1,400 m.

In the afternoon, south of a line going from Thiérache, in the north, to the Gironde estuary, the sky will be overcast and gray.

It will rain in most regions, continuous but weak rains, more sustained from Berry towards Périgord, the Landes, sometimes stormy towards Gascony, Champagne and Burgundy.

The rain-snow limit will be around 1,400 m in the Alps and 1,300 in the Massif Central.

Météo France placed the Loire and Haute-Loire departments on orange snow-ice alert on Saturday morning from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.

The south wind will blow from 60 to 80 km/h in the Rhône valley, from 50 to 70 in the Autan area.

Very variable temperatures

At the end of the afternoon and evening, rainy periods will return to PACA and could take on a stormy character near the coast.

In the evening and the first part of the night from Saturday to Sunday, the rain-snow limit will drop quickly and a notable snowy episode will be expected over the west of the Massif Central and the Pyrenees from 500 m.

From 2 to 8 degrees from east to west for minimum temperatures.

The maximums will range from 8 to 12 degrees over the northern two thirds of the country, from 12 to 15 further south with peaks up to 17 to 18 on the Mediterranean arc, the Corsican beaches.
