He crumbles under work, while a large part of the economy is at a standstill due to the confinement linked to the coronavirus. The boss of a small company in Bruguières (Haute-Garonne), who created a hygiaphone in one weekend, must even organize production with his former competitors.

"On Saturday, a pharmacist friend said to me" I face people who test positive every day and we don't have masks, you have to find me a solution "," says Cédric Martin, the manager of a TPE of six people specializing in laser cutting, especially for the aeronautical sector, located about twenty kilometers north of Toulouse.

The family involved

The 46-year-old Haut-Garonnais immediately set about designing a removable polycarbonate hygienic model. "I asked my son to do the 3D and my wife to prepare the flyers," he explains.

After delivering a few pharmacies, word-of-mouth and then media coverage of his initiative brought in orders. "As of Tuesday, I was contacted by a group of brands that wanted thousands of pieces," observes the entrepreneur.

He then got in touch with competitors around Toulouse by offering to participate in the production of hygienic devices. Four VSEs are participating in this association for the moment and Cédric Martin hopes to be able to release several hundred pieces per day while "orders are pouring in from all over France".

The standard model is sold for 95 euros before tax, "a price that we would have charged in normal times," he said.
