The weekend's World Cup competitions in Goms, Switzerland, started with a mixed relay already on Friday. The relatively newly created competition where two men's and two women's skiers form teams together over a course of 4x5 km.

During the first leg, William Poromaa drove for Sweden's first team and Johan Häggström for Sweden's second team. Häggström switched ten seconds behind leading Norway and Poromaa a further five seconds behind.

After his stretch, Poromaa announced that he was done racing for this weekend as his body did not feel good.

"Shit fun!"

Frida Karlsson for Sweden's first team easily drove herself into the lead during the second stretch. The Swede, who looks to be in continued good form, took Sweden's into a lead of five seconds at the change before Norway.

- I felt energetic, it's fun to ride then. I had good skis too, says Frida Karlsson to SVT Sport after her stage and also praises the concept of mixed relay.

- Shit fun! There is a lot of prestige in it and it will be the ultimate competition as all nations exhibit their best skaters so it will really be a battle of nations, so it's cool, says Karlsson.

Sweden against Norway

During the third leg, there was a battle between five teams – two from Sweden, two from Norway and one from Finland. Edvin Anger drove well for Sweden's second team and did better than Jens Burman in the first team.

In the last and fourth leg, it was the Swedes Linn Svahn and Maja Dahlqvist against the Norwegians Tiril Udnes Weng and Maria Hartz Melling. They were all together when the sixth lap of 2.5 kilometers began.

With 1.5 kilometers to go, Hartz Melling had to let go and there were only two Swedes and Udnes Weng left over the last hill.

Going into the race, Linn Svahn would prove to be the strongest. There was really no talk when she started her sprint and when she crossed the finish line, the crowd behind could see Maja Dahlqvist sprint down Udnes Weng to double Sweden's first finish.
