The West Japan Snowball Tournament had been canceled due to the new coronavirus and lack of snow, but on the 4th, it was held in Wakasa Town for the first time in five years, with 17 teams and approximately 150 participants from inside and outside the prefecture.



In the competition, teams of seven people compete in three-set matches, each set lasting three minutes.



You win by stealing the opponent's flag or hitting everyone with snowballs.



Players hid behind walls called ``shelters'' and dodged snowballs or threw them at opposing players.



Also, when he ran into the opponent's territory and stole the flag while avoiding being hit by the snowball, the audience cheered.



A 5th grade elementary school boy said, ``It was exciting and fun to hit each other with snowballs.I won, but I wanted to win by grabbing the flag myself.''



A man in his 20s said, ``I participated as a commemorative member of the team who came to Tottori after becoming a university student.It was my first time participating and it was difficult to throw and I didn't know how to fight, but it was fun.''
