Today, in Cairo, Egyptian actress and producer Magda El Sabahi died at the age of 90 after a long artistic career filled with dozens of social, national and religious films.

The representative professions syndicate called the late artist on her official Facebook page, and artists of different generations were quick to console her family through social media.

She was born Basem Afaf Ali Kamel Al-Sabahi and started her artistic career at the age of fifteen when she participated in the movie (The Adviser) in front of Ismail Yassin and directed by Saif Al-Din Shawkat in 1949.

She was distinguished by her soft voice and warm performance, and interested in expressing the Egyptian girl eager for freedom in the sixties of the last century, she presented the films (Adolescent Girls), (Eve on the Road) and (The Naked Truth).

Its artistic balance exceeded 60 films, some taken from literary works such as (The Mirage), by the story of Naguib Mahfouz, (nose and three eyes), by the story of Ihsan Abdul Quddus and (the man who lost his shadow) on the story of Fathi Ghanem.

She founded a film production company, through which she presented some of her films, such as (Hijra al-Rasoul), (Wife of Five Men), (Age for a Moment), and (Jamila), taken from the story of the Algerian militant Jamila Bouhired.

She went through a single directing experience in the movie (Who Loved), which she produced and directed, and co-wrote it with Sabri Al-Askari and Wajeeh Najeeb in 1966.

She got married to the late actor Ihab Nafeh, who has starred in a number of films such as (The Last Kiss) and (Al-Nadha).

She received the Nile Award for Art in 2016 and is the highest Egyptian award honored by the state at the Art Day in 2014.
