Thanaa Debsi was born on June 22, 1941, in the city of Aleppo - northern Syria - and began her acting journey in the mid-fifties of the last century, when she left high school and moved with her sister Tharaa Debsi to Damascus, and the two sisters participated in theatrical performances of the People’s Theater Group of Dar al-Kutub. Thanaa suffered from a health problem in the retina, which was talked about by her husband, the artist Salim Sabry, who said in an interview with a television program, “You cannot imagine how difficult it is to see your beloved in pain,” and he revealed his wish to donate an eye to his wife, but this matter is not medically applicable. .
