Lovers gather for New Year's Greeting cranes.Hokkaido Tsurui Village, January 2, 13:45
Before the sunrise, many photo lovers gathered at Tsurui Village in eastern Hokkaido to photograph the Japanese national crane, a special natural monument, before sunrise.
Since the snowy river flowing through Tsurui Village does not freeze during winter, the cranes gather as roosts, so it is known as a spot where many people gather every year.
On the 2nd, about 50 photography enthusiasts gathered before sunrise, holding a camera at the Japanese crane on the river.
Shortly after sunrise, when the cranes began to fly in a flock, they were shooting a magnificent flapping wing.
A man in his forties, who came from Tobetsu-cho, Hokkaido, said, "I was impressed by the shape of the crane flying toward the front. I was glad I could take a beautiful photo at the beginning of the new year."
A man in his 30s, who came from the United States, said, "It was really beautiful. I was glad to see the crane."
