Follow Dongpo’s footsteps
Danzhou, known as "Dan'er County" in ancient times, has a history of more than 2,100 years and is the first area in Hainan to establish an administrative system. In the history of Danzhou, Su Dongpo left a dazzling light. In Su Dongpo's tortuous experience of being demoted, the last stop was Danzhou. From July in the fourth year of Shaosheng (1097) to June in the third year of Yuanfu (1100) in the Northern Song Dynasty, Su Dongpo, who was over sixty years old, was exiled to Danzhou for nearly three years. In 2006, he opened schools and taught enlightenment, allowing remote places to truly feel the civilization of the Central Plains.
