The Sultan Bin Ali Al Owais Cultural Foundation has announced that it will open the candidacy for the 17th session (2020-2021) from January 5th to December 31st.

Founded by the late poet Sultan bin Ali Al Owais in 1987 and with a total value of $ 600,000 (120,000 in each field), the award aims to encourage and honor Arab writers, writers, thinkers and scholars, proud of their role in the intellectual and scientific advancement in the fields of culture, literature and science in the Arab world.

The award is divided into five fields: poetry, story, novel and play, literary and criticism studies, human and future studies, the award for cultural and scientific achievement, as the first four fields are subject to arbitration, while the award for cultural and scientific achievement is not subject to the criteria for arbitration, as a cultural or scientific personality is chosen or A public or institution that left a mark and a mark on cultural life by the institution’s Board of Trustees. The Foundation stated that it is currently working on sending nomination forms to most Arab universities, institutions, associations, unions, literary and cultural families and publishing houses, so that they are available to candidates in all parts of the Arab world, and can also be requested from the Foundation directly, or by visiting the website of the Foundation.

And on the way to nominate for awards, in addition to nominating universities, cultural institutions, unions, literary links, and publishing houses - and as stipulated in the regulations and regulations in force in the institution - the creator has the right to nominate himself directly to the General Secretariat, and five Arab writers have the right to nominate those they see It is appropriate for the award to be approved by the candidate when he is addressed by the award's general secretariat.
