Detection of banned drugs again at Iwate Horse Race To stop race for 4 days November 18th 11:01

Last year, Iwate Horses, where the detection of prohibited drugs became a problem continuously, found that prohibited drugs were also detected from racehorses that entered the race on the 10th of this month. In response to this, the horse racing association will cancel the four-day race scheduled for this month in order to conduct pre-run inspections.

This was revealed at a press conference held on the 17th by the Iwate Horse Racing Association.

According to it, a 3-year-old Noa Christine entered the second race in the race held on the 10th of this month in a female racehorse managed by the Morioka Racecourse stables. The drug “Boldenone” has been detected.

In Iwate Horse Racing, prohibited drugs were detected in five horses from July to December last year, and the police are investigating on suspicion of violation of the Horse Racing Law, but the cause is still unknown.

The horse racing union resumed the race in March because it took measures to prevent a recurrence, but this time, once prohibited drugs were detected again, we will conduct a full head test before starting.

Therefore, we decided to cancel the four-day race from the 18th and the 23rd to 25th of this month.

Mr. Yoshiro Chiba, Director General of the Iwate Horse Racing Association, said, “I was working to prevent a recurrence, but I apologize to the people of the prefecture for the prohibited drugs. I will continue. "
