Reconstruction of Shuri Castle, support fund exceeding 500 million yen, November 13 18:11

In response to the fire at Shuri Castle in Okinawa, the amount of reconstruction assistance raised by Naha City through crowdfunding greatly exceeded the target, exceeding 500 million yen on the 13th.

Naha City has been using crowdfunding to raise funds necessary for rebuilding Shuri Castle using its hometown tax payment site since the 1st of this month.

The grant amount reached 100 million yen, which was the target on the third day from the start, but donations continued, and exceeded 500 million yen after 3 pm on the 13th.

There are over 34,000 people who have donated so far, and there are 7800 comments in the support message column on the site saying “I wish you a reconstruction as soon as possible. It is a symbol of Japan as well as Okinawa.” It is too much.

Naha will continue to use this site until the end of March next year, and has also established an English-only donation site to solicit donations via the Internet.

In addition, we have dedicated accounts at six financial institutions, and accept donations by contact and transfer.
