  • The Occitanie region has launched new measures to help the local economy.

  • In particular, rent aid is offered for businesses subject to administrative closure, which can go up to 1,000 euros.

  • Cash advances are now repayable for up to 24 months.

The Occitanie region has launched new measures to support the local economy, heavily impacted by confinement.

"There are two stages: surviving the crisis and preparing for the recovery," says Carole Delga (PS), the president of the regional council.

We must act with emergency aid, and with assistance to help transform our economy.

"" Devices to get out of it and then see the light ", adds Alain Di Crescenzo, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

A fund endowed with 80 million euros, called L'Occal, was launched last June to help businesses in the tourism, local trade and crafts sector to cope with the crisis.

It is now open to new beneficiaries, including cultural players, associations or companies, events, sport and leisure, agritourism or wine tourism projects and equestrian centers.

Rent aid up to 1,000 euros

In partnership with the inter-municipal authorities and the consular chambers, 26,000 independent businesses, up to 10 employees, currently subject to administrative closure, will be able to benefit from the payment of one month's rent from November 27, up to 'to 1,000 euros.

“This assistance will be paid quickly, within 30 days,” notes Carole Delga.

This represents an effort of 20 million euros for the region.

In addition, the repayment of advances for cash flow requirements promised by the region, up to a limit of 25,000 euros, is deferred to 24 months.

Finally, the fund's subsidies planned to finance stimulus and health investments, up to a limit of 23,000 euros, can now allow beneficiaries, struggling during this confinement, to provide tools to ensure, in particular, distance sales.

The region also launched on November 4, like many other communities, a digital platform, Dans ma zone, where merchants can benefit from a free digital showcase for their products.

The L'Occal system is extended, initially, until January 31.
