In South Africa an investigation is still underway to understand how 23 people were able to die of cholera last month near Pretoria after drinking tap water. For many, this is a sign of a worrying deterioration in the quality of drinking water. Caroline Dumay Nadine Theron and Graham Walsh report.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is on his way to Poland, the rallying point for the African peace mission. A diplomatic delegation of four heads of state is due to travel to Kiev to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, before heading to St. Petersburg the next day for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Vladimir Putin who met today with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on a state visit to Moscow. The Kremlin chief hailed the good relations between the two countries.
