Yesterday, Saturday, Khartoum called on the UN Security Council to assume its responsibility “towards the countries that are fueling the continuation of the war in Sudan (which it did not name) by supplying the Rapid Support Forces with weapons and political and media support,” while the governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, affirmed the unity of Sudan, denouncing those who “They sought help from foreign hands” to gain power.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that it followed the contents of the report of the United Nations observer team on Darfur “regarding the war waged by the Rapid Support Forces and those who support them against the Sudanese people.”

The statement added that the report "highlighted a number of facts, including that the victims of ethnic cleansing and genocide committed by the rebel militia (Rapid Support) and its allies in West Darfur state alone amounted to between 10 and 15 thousand civilians, including women, children and the elderly."

He said, "The continued supply of advanced weapons provided and facilitated by certain countries to the rebels in violation of the relevant Security Council resolutions is what enables the rebel militia to expand its military operations (...), prolonging the war and extending it geographically."

The statement called on the Security Council to classify the Rapid Support Forces as a “terrorist group and criminalize dealing with it.” It also called on it to “assume its responsibility towards the countries that fuel the continuation of the war in Sudan, by providing the militia with weapons and political and media support,” and “consider them committing the crime of aggression that is punishable by justice.”

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also called in the statement to "pursue and liquidate the financing networks and commercial companies" of the Rapid Support Forces and "hold accountable the public relations and propaganda companies employed by the militia in the United States, Britain, Canada, and other countries."

It is noteworthy that earlier yesterday, Saturday, international media reported;

Among them: Reuters, that a United Nations report was submitted to the UN Security Council, stating that “between 10,000 and 15,000 people were killed in one city in the state of West Darfur in Sudan last year, in ethnic violence carried out by the Rapid Support Forces and the Arab militias allied with them (which it did not specify).” ".

Sudan unity

In a related context, the governor of the Darfur region, Minni Arko Minawi, confirmed that there is no compromise on Sudan’s unity and sovereignty and confronting foreign interference, noting that the Sudan Liberation Movement army forces present in the north are working in full coordination with the armed forces and are part of them.

During his meeting with the government and security committee of the northern state, headed by the governor of the state, Abdeen Awadallah, he pointed out “the presence of external hands in igniting the war of last April 15, for political and economic goals and purposes, the result of which was the destruction of the infrastructure of the Sudanese state, and the erasure of Sudan’s heritage, culture, and identity.”

Sudan News Agency (SUNA) quoted him as saying during the meeting, “Those who started the war started it in order to gain power, and they used all inhumane means to do so.”
