In the case of the 15-year-old who died after an attack on a Frankfurt football field, the first autopsy results are now available. Accordingly, the teenager died as a result of blunt force against the left side of the head, as the spokeswoman for the public prosecutor's office in Frankfurt, Nadja Niesen, said. Toxicological test results are still pending.

The crime occurred on Whit Sunday after the final whistle of an international youth football match in Frankfurt's Eckenheim district, in which a French and a Berlin team competed against each other. The alleged perpetrator is 16 years old and played for a team from Metz, France. The victim was 15 years old and played for a team from Berlin. The boy had died last Wednesday from his severe brain injuries.

Suspected perpetrator in custody in Germany

According to the public prosecutor's office, the alleged perpetrator is being investigated for bodily injury resulting in death. He is in custody in Germany. The teenager does not want to have acted on purpose. When the arrest warrant was announced, he is said to have said that he could not remember hitting. It was all a big "mess", it was said. After the fact, it had also become known that the deceased 15-year-old will become an organ donor.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway at the Frankfurt Criminal Investigation Department to clarify the detailed sequence of events and the question of how the crime occurred. "We have already been sent various photos and videos," said a police spokesman.

However, witnesses are still called upon to come forward. Videos and photos could be sent online to the police or uploaded to a special site. "We'll take everything we can get," the spokesman said.
