Leitmayr in action: Later on to take the dachshund out

At the beginning of this »crime scene«, Inspector Leitmayr stood in front of a gorilla cage in the zoo and made jokes at the expense of his colleague Batic, at the end he wobbled away with a dachshund on a leash. In between, things were less funny. The murder of a policewoman led the two investigators (Udo Wachtveitl, Miroslav Nemec) into the e-sports milieu. The density of corpses was high: Three real deaths had to be solved in the end – the numerous digital shootings and knife attacks by gamers while playing Counter-Strike remained uncounted.

In our review, we wrote: "The disappointing thing is that the filmmakers really can't come up with anything new, even though they have chosen a subject that hasn't been dealt with often in the crime series. But this episode simply lacks visual and narrative daring. At the end of the day, while watching, we remain in the same position as the two senior Commissioners. We follow the digital subplot (police officers get involved in the gamer scene, tricksters try to infiltrate the rules in the e-sports industry) from the perspective of the old analogue bears Batic and Leitmayr – and therefore only see: people watching people stare at screens.«

We gave 5 out of 10 points. What do you think of the gamer thriller?

The shooting of another »Tatort« with Batic and Leitmayr has already been filmed. It is about the murder in a correctional facility. The working title is »The Prodigy«. Thomas Stiller, who also directed the sensational Munich episode »Macht und Ohnmacht« about violence in the police milieu, is responsible for writing and directing.
